What should be included in the mark on safety glass?

Last revised in 2018, BS 6262-4 states that installed safety glass should be marked as follows:

  • Clearly and indelibly marked
  • Name or trademark of manufacturer, merchant or installer
  • Reference to product standard (e.g. BS EN 12150, BS EN 14449, etc.)
  • Classification according to BS EN 12600

Only the first digit of the BS EN 12600 classification is necessary if the glass is intended for vertical glazing in critical locations.
